​I'm a self-taught artist based in North Carolina. Art lets me share my passion for the things that catch my eye or spark my curiosity in the world around me. I love birds, and I started painting them in an attempt to depict their beauty and fierce vitality. Over time I expanded my scope and began painting other subjects, mostly scenes and images that have struck me in various travels here and there. I love watercolor for its transparency and light, and because it reminds me that I can only control so much: I try to direct it, but at a certain point the paint is going to do what it wants to do. As an artist, I am, and always will be, a work in progress; I learn and grow with every picture I do.
